The Memphis restaurant scene has lost one of its most colorful talents. Harry Nichols of Harry's Detour fame, was killed by a car while crossing Poplar Avenue in Midtown. Nichols turned many diners on to the possibilities of his brand of creative coastal cuisine, and will be missed.
The Fuego Fresh Mexican Grill in Cordova has been converted into a Costa Vida restaurant, part of the Utah-based chain. Another Costa Vida has opened on Poplar Avenue near Highland.
In Como, Mississippi, Hope and Art Gallery and Café has opened on Main Street, serving lunch on Wednesday and lunch and dinner Thursday through Saturday. High tea is available by reservation.
The owners of Jim's Place are celebrating their 85th anniversary with the opening of a new location, Jim's Place Grille, at 3660 Houston Levee Road in Collierville.
