As always, there have been plenty of changes afoot among the city's chefs. Scott McQueen has left Automatic Slim's Tonga Club to become chef of Dish, the Cooper-Young restaurant. Benjamin Vaughn has left Yia Yia's Eurocafe in Germantown to become chef of River Oaks in East Memphis. And sadly, Chef Bonnie Mack passed away in August after a storied tenure at Blues City Café on Beale Street.
Penny McCraw has left the Brushmark to become chef at McEwen's On Monroe, replacing Michael Patrick, who left for Jimmy Ishii's new restaurant on Beale Street. Joe Cartwright, sous-chef at McEwen's, has moved next door to Lolo's Table to be chef, replacing Gary Hawkins, who has moved to Jackson, Mississippi.
