A funeral for Mark Newman, pictured above with his wife, Rita, is planned for Sunday.
David ‘Mark’ Newman, 58, of Myrtle, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2013.
He was born September 1, 1954, in Springfield, Missouri, to Melvin and Jacquie Newman. He was preceded in death by his mother, maternal grandparents June and Ruth Hart, paternal grandparents Carroll and Doris Newman and many friends and family.
He is survived by his wife Rita, children Chris Newman and wife Tara, Susan and husband Brett Foster, Courtney and husband David Gunter and David Newman and wife Kristin, grandchildren Sydney, Jackson, Lily, Noah, Hannah, Blake, Cody and one on the way, as well as his father Melvin, sister Vicki, father and mother in-law John and June Roberts as well as many other family.
Mark had a lifelong passion for his family and agriculture. Those who knew him best know that his love for the pork industry developed with “a faith born not of words, but of deeds.”
Services will be held at Robertson-Drago funeral home in West Plains, Missouri, on Sunday, August 25. A visitation will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. with a graveside service at 3 p.m. at Oak Lawn cemetery in West Plains. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
