The renovation of the bake shop's location next to James Davis is almost complete.
It’s time to stop whining about the dearth of bakeries in Memphis because Bake Frost Shop is opening August 15 in the Laurelwood Shopping Center.
The bakery, located next to James Davis, is the first retail store for its parent company All American Sweets, where family recipes shape pies, cakes, cupcakes, cheesecakes and cookies made from scratch with wholesome ingredients.
The bakery’s signature strawberry cake already has a devoted following thanks to the pound of strawberries in its pink and delicious three-layer stack. The bakery’s coconut cake is also a favorite in my family, especially for birthdays.
Owner Bill Kloos Jr. started the bakery in 2004 with help from his parents, Bill and Lynne Kloos. Since then, the local start-up has expanded its Bartlett kitchen to 5,000 sq. ft. to accommodate an impressive menu of seasonal desserts and custom wedding cakes. Even a quick scroll through the bake shop’s offerings is enticement to the new retail location, which will operate seven days a week with later hours Saturday nights.
