There are two types of schools in the Memphis City Schools Optional Program. Most programs exist as a school-within-a-school, which means the optional program is offered in addition to traditional classes or programs.
However, 11 schools exist primarily as optional schools (see asterisks). Most students who attend these 11 schools participate in their optional program.
