Basketball star, Thaddeus Young of the Philadelphia 76ers, is set to host his first comedy show at the New Daisy Theatre this weekend with 100 percentof the proceeds benefiting Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital through the Young for Youth Foundation.
This entertaining event will also feature three celebrity comedians, Jermaine “Funnymaine” Johnson, Karen Mills, and Jay Lamont for an amusing evening that's sure to keep a smile on your face.
Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital has a long history in Memphis and has made a reputation for itself as the nation’s largest surgical brain tumor program and ranks in the top ten for busiest emergency departments in the United States. Thad Young is most known for his outstanding achievements on the basketball court, but he has recently become more active in community service to the youth community through his non-profit, Young for Youth Foundation, which aims to support and create programs in an effort to build a better future for children and young families. This partnership is sure to be a valuable component in fundraising and awareness for both organizations.
“Laughs for Le Bonheur Charity Comedy Show is a unique way for the public to contribute to the Young for Youth Foundation to support Le Bonheur Hospital,” Young says. “It is especially close to my heart since it will be taking place in my hometown, Memphis, Tenn.”
Along with side-splitting entertainment, the comedy event will host up to 700 guests complete with a VIP cocktail reception where you just might rub elbows with the celebrity guests and athletes in attendance.
