Habitat for Humanity of Greater Memphis has won a $20,000 "Coming Back Home" grant from the Tennessee Housing Development Agency and Habitat for Humanity of Tennessee. The grant will be used to pay for new construction in Trinity Park, a local development with 38 eco-friendly homes.
Under the Coming Back Home program, 45 homes will be built statewide in the next two years, serving an estimated 165 people. Each of the participating families is required to meet an interest-free mortgage payment each month. That money then goes toward helping other potential Habitat clients.
