Wakeema Hollis
Cover and fashion preview model Wakeema Hollis is a native of Jackson, Tennessee. A model signed with local Colors Agency, Wakeema, who actually prefers to be called by her last name, Hollis, has been hard at work as of late. She is currently signed with Vision Management in New York and the prestigious Ford Modeling Agency in Paris. In September, Hollis walked the runways for top designers Marc Jacobs and Diane Von Furstenberg during New York's fashion week. During the two-day shoot for this issue, Memphis art director Hudd Byard was impressed with Hollis' professionalism: "She was amazing in front of the camera. Every angle she gave us, every pose was perfect. She was really in charge of every move, and I don't think anyone could take a bad picture of her."
Sean Bloemer
Memphis photographer Sean Bloemer has directed music videos, longform television, commercials, and print campaigns. He was among the first filmmakers to bring 24p high-definition digital video production to the Mid-South, and is a strong proponent of digital still acquisition.
Drew Ermenc
Contributing editor Drew Ermenc grew up in Hendersonville, TN, a suburb of Nashville, and followed his future wife to Memphis after earning his Masters in Journalism from the University of Mississippi. He currently serves as the editor of Memphis Business Quarterly, a sister publication to Memphis launching this month, as well as a number of local annual publications including Meet Memphis, Germantown, and Collierville. Ermenc lives in Midtown with his wife, son, and dog.
Leonard Gill
Leonard Gill is a Memphian born and bred, and before returning to his hometown in 1984, he learned about publishing as an editor for a subsidiary of Harper & Row in Boston. At the Round Table Bookstore in Memphis, he then got a first-hand look at the book trade. He is a copy editor and book reviewer for The Memphis Flyer , and as a monthly columnist for Memphis , he focuses on fiction and nonfiction of local or regional interest.
Tom Martin
Illustrator Tom Martin is a native Memphian and runs Tom Martin Design, a design shop specializing in graphic design and illustration. Tom has worked for such clients as Elvis Presley Enterprises, International Paper, The Greater Memphis Arts Council, Rock and Ice Magazine, and has been featured in Print and Communication Arts magazines.
