He graduated from the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, at the top of his class and received the Marble Award for the best portfolio in both photography and commercial art. He worked out of Florida, while traveling on assignments for international, national, and regional accounts. In addition to photography, Rick produces custom radius backgrounds for photography, video, and television studios, as well as architectural accents for residential and commercial buildings. Carson Irwin
Carson Irwin, a Memphian since birth, is the most fascinating person you'll ever meet. Her priorities include school, music, HBO, eating, and making lists. She tells people she enjoys reading, which is a lie, but she does have many novels under her belt, being a senior English major at Rhodes College. She loves dogs and hates washing dishes. Now completing a six-month internship at Memphis magazine, Carson will return to her books in hopes of graduating in May.
Tim Sampson
Contributor Tim Sampson is — although he is loath to use the term — a self-professed "foodie." Over the years as a professional journalist, he has written about Memphis restaurants from the first days of Downtown's Automatic Slim's, to soul food, Thai, Vietnamese, Greek, French, Russian, and everything in between. Tim is the founding editor of The Memphis Flyer , and a former editor of Memphis magazine. He is currently communications manager for Soulsville USA. He claims he is working on his first cookbook, Cooking Drunk , which he hopes to translate into either a local cable-access television cult classic or a showstopper on the popular Food TV network.
