This Sunday, December 9th, cash mobs are coming to Memphis. No reason to be scared, though. While they might sound frightening, cash mobs are just a clever way of saying “a movement that encourages the community to support locally-owned businesses, thus boosting the economy.”
The cash mob, held at Literacy Mid-South, will benefit numerous business owners who are part of the Memphis Creative Women's Collective that might not have store fronts to sell their merchandise. Featuring everything from pottery to paintings, it's ideal for stocking up on gifts and shopping local. Each business participating, including Thigh High Jeans and Metal and Mud among others, is donating 10% of their profit to Literacy Mid-South.
