I'm just back from vacation so this may be old news, but the illustrations in your August issue are a welcome feature -- as is your celebrating the illustrator at the top of your contributors' page. With so much visual information it gets tough to distinguish your editorial content, and I think this works well. I also love your continuing wide-ranging use of our alum Brad Jones. Good work in a tough world.

I received my August Memphis magazine today and was interested to hear the San Franciscans' report on their visit to Big John's for Tang Pie. I attempted a similar visit to Jerry's Sno-Cones in hot pursuit of a Wedding Cake sno-cone, but arrived on the premises at 2:20 p.m. only to find the establishment closed on aThursday afternoon in mid-July! No sign, nothing to indicate whether the closing was temporary or permanent. One can only hope they are on vacation and will soon return. What's up with that?

carole: We attempted calling twice, but got voicemail both times. Since we haven't heard a word about our favorite sno-cone place closing, we'll chalk it up to odd business hours. Good luck with the pursuit of the sno-cone -- it's worth the wait.
Why didn't you include a non-emergency number to the police in your comprehensive telephone listing? I think that's one of the hardest telephone numbers to find in this area. No one lists it anywhere. We just hear constant complaints about people who call 911 in non-emergency situations.

An excellent point. The number is 545-COPS.
I am truly honored to be included in the Memphis magazine Hall of Fame.
Thanks to you and your editorial staff for this special recognition, and for allowing me to be the only woman with these illustrious men!
My best,

We incorrectly identified a photo of Joe Ford Jr. as Jake Ford in our August issue. We regret the error.
