APRIL 2006
Congratulations on the totally redesigned 30th anniversary issue of Memphis -- The City Magazine . I really like the new look, the new format, and the new features. The results of your editorial and creative talents are impressive. You have every right to kvell. (Yiddish: to burst with pride).
I searched among my personal archives and found a not-so-gently worn copy of the 15th Special Anniversary Issue. I thought you would enjoy having it. Be sure to turn to page 110. Among the names of original and continuous subscribers is moi. A word of caution: You should either wear latex gloves or figure out some way to disinfect the magazine. It's been in my bathroom for the last several years.
With warmest regards and best wishes for your continued success.
~ Harold I. Steinberg, Memphis
The 30th Anniversary Issue just landed on my table and I enjoyed it completely. I've read enough back issues to take yet another trip down
memory lane. Ask any honorary Canadian and he will tell you -- not many nonMemphians love your city the way I do. I'm missing y'all!
Congratulations on a beautiful brand-new magazine.
All the best,
~ Paul Byrne, Kelowna, British Columbia
Editor's Note: When Paul says he loves the city, he means it. In fact, Paul, the publisher of Okanagan Life magazine, visited Memphis and fell in love with the city so much, he penned Ink! The Musical ," a play based on Memphis magazine. Ink! opened at the Performance Works theater in Vancouver April 14th. Find out more at www.inkthemusical.com.
