If you haven’t heard Julien Baker’s music, stop what you are doing and listen. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter recently premiered her song, “Sprained Ankle,” on NPR’s All Songs Considered. NPR describes her music as “equal parts agony and burgeoning wisdom.”
Baker is currently a student at MTSU, but she has Memphis roots. You might have seen her as a high school student playing with her band, Forrister, or met her hanging out at all ages music venues around town.
You can read more about her background and music in a short interview she did this week with fashion magazine WWD. Or you can follow her on Facebook for more information about upcoming local shows.
