WHAT'S GOING ON- Stage Coach Collection, a 48,200-square-foot retail property in Bartlett, has been sold for $5,850,000. Dick Huffman and Mickey Davis, investment specialists in Marcus & Millichap’s Memphis office, had the exclusive listing to market the property on behalf of the seller, a partnership. The buyer was identified as Phillip Nachman.- The City of West Memphis had a groundbreaking Monday for its 14,400-square-foot state-of-the-art library. It will feature a multipurpose common room with seating for up to 100 people, an 18-person conference room, meeting and study spaces, a children’s area with group reading spaces and a play area, a teen gaming and lounge area, a café, administration offices, and an outdoor event space. The new structure, which will replace the existing 7,500-square-foot library, was designed by the Memphis-based design firm Allen and Hoshall.
- We celebrated World Mosquito Day earlier this week, although "celebrated" may be too strong a word. In recognition of the day, Terminix released its annual list of the Top 50 Mosquito Cities, and Memphis came in at No. 8. This follows the Shelby County Health Department's announcement that the first human case of West Nile Virus in Shelby County in 2019 was reported earlier this month. It was also the first human case of the virus in the state of Tennessee.
