Midtown super-group Motel Mirrors play a free show tomorrow night (July 7th) at the New Daisy. Formed by John Paul Keith and Amy LaVere, Motel Mirrors have been performing on the strength of their debut self-titled 10-inch, playing around town in addition to festivals like SXSW and regional dates in the tri-state area. An Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign has been set up to finance the Motel Mirrors first album, and to date, nearly $11,000 has been raised toward the $14,000 goal.
Also on Thursday’s show is Faith Evans Ruch, who recently recorded songs with noted Memphis drummer Ryan Peel. That single gets an official release on July 22nd and is apparently the first of a few projects that Peel and Ruch will release together. Rounding out the bill at the New Daisy is Bryan Hayes, Chris Milam (who recently recorded a Daytrotter session), and Myla Smith.
The New Daisy doesn’t host free shows very often, and this lineup of all-star local musicians should be enough to get you out of the house and onto Beale Street. The show starts at 7 p.m., and all ages are welcome. Check out videos from Faith Evans Ruch and Motel Mirrors below to get you ready for the gig tomorrow.
