As the city sizzles, our fashions here will help you beat the heat — and they’re all from retailers with such cool histories. Lansky 126 at The Peabody was born from a close connection with Elvis, and The Hi-Tone is located in the building where the King took karate and is still owned by his instructor, Kang Rhee. Oak Hall opened its doors in 1859, James Davis celebrates its 50th anniversary, and Mednikow jewelers has serviced generations of Memphis families. And though Southern Couture is a relative newcomer, this shop has enjoyed five years in Memphis and we hope will be with us for years to come. We chose a variety of locations that represent our town and the photo captions are all names of movies that were shot here. In other words, this month’s fashion reflects just how cool the Bluff City is.
