Join exhibiting artists Barbara Penn and George Edward Walker for a conversation about their current exhibitions at Crosstown Arts: “In Big Life, Long Life” and “A Snippet of God’s Unsung Children’s Journey.” The artists will discuss the ideas, experiences, and creative processes behind their work, now on view through September 6.

Dreams
Crosstown Theater will screen Akira Kurosawa’s visually breathtaking anthology that transforms dreams into pure cinema. Moving between wonder, terror, memory, and apocalypse, the film reflects on humanity’s relationship with nature, war, art, and the subconscious through a series of unforgettable surreal visions.

Prime Practice: Printmaking with Vince Long
Prime Practice is an eight-week studio course for adults 55 and older who are ready to try something new, strengthen their skills and connect with others. No previous art experience is required. Led by artist and designer Vince Long, each two-hour session is designed to make participation comfortable and approachable.

Reading Rhythms with Orpheum Theatre Group
Join Memphis River Parks and Orpheum Theatre Group inside Beale Street Landing at Tom Lee Park for a lively storytime with Cossitt Library and a joyful movement class for families with children ages 2-5, all on our beautiful riverfront. Complimentary mini Mempops, refreshments donated by Juiced What You Need, and crafts with Cossitt Library will be provided to participants while supplies last.
