Master designer Oscar de la Renta shows what he does best.
I would do almost anything to go back to New York Fashion Week and be in the middle of all of the editors, buyers, models. photographers, and other fashion glitterati. But I’m not, so I have to stay glued to Style.com and download slideshows of all the presentations as they occur. I always obsess over looks that are to die for and the runway is the very best place to see what optical illusions in chiffon, organza, and faille designers deliver. What makes it into stores is another package altogether as designers often drop the most impractical looks from a line in favor of those that retail buyers order.
But, my picks so far have zero to do with practical living and everything to do with what catches my eye, what trends are exciting to me, and how beautiful the outfit looks on the model. Men have fantasy football picks and I have fashion fantasy picks. Spring trends so far are black and white color combos, mixing up prints, menswear graphics like ticking stripes, oversize gingham, and sharp tailoring. We haven’t even transitioned into Fall yet with delish boots and sexy sweaters but I already have a growing list of must haves for next Spring.
