Have you ever noticed how wine creates tears on the sides of your glass once it’s poured? There’s a scientific reason for that! It’s a result of evaporation and surface tension. Maybe not something you usually think about while indulging in your favorite red or white, but at the Pink Palace Museum’s upcoming event — The Science of Wine — you can learn about this and much more as you sip on your favorite vintage. The event will be held Friday, July 31st, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
In addition to fun activities demonstrating wine-related science, you can also listen in on lectures to learn a few things. Topics will include: Science of Cava (Spanish Champagne), Science of Sake (Japanese Rice Wine), and Science of Pinot Noir Clonal Blending. An installment of the museum’s adult education series, the event will feature a variety of wines provided by West Tennessee Crown Distributing Co.
Hors d’oeuvres from a selection of Memphis’ top restaurants will be served.
Participating restaurants include: Erling Jensen Restaurant Iris Tsunami The Grove Grill Whole Foods Porcellino’s Las Tortugas Nothing Bundt Cakes Café Society and more!
Attendees can also participate in a wine pull. Money raised will go to the Pink Palace’s education department.
This event is 21 and up. Tickets are limited and will not be sold during the event. Ticket price is $25 for designated drivers, $50 for Pink Palace Museum members, and $55 for non-members. Get yours today by calling 901-636-2362 or visiting brownpapertickets.com.
