Round Two of Bill Morris’ “Lessons in Leadership” is scheduled to be a featured component of the Church Health Center’s mix-and-mingle event on Tuesday night, April 21, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Tennessee Brewery, 495 Tennessee Street.
Also on the bill for the event, which offers complimentary beverages and snacks, a cash bar, and food trucks: a conversation between Church Health Center head Scott Morris and Antony Sheehan on the theme of “Collaboration and Racial Community.”
The last few weeks have been a general period of recognition for Bill Morris, a former three-term Sheriff and four-term Mayor of Shelby County. He was the subject of a recent Memphis Flyer cover story (“High Noon: Bill Morris and the Post-Assassination Handling of James Earl Ray,” April 9) and was the honoree at a Wednesday night gala on April 15 at Graceland’s Car Museum and Ticket Pavilion.
The Graceland reception, a fundraising affair for the Church Health Center, drew several hundred attendees, including both Memphis Mayor A C Wharton and Shelby County Mayor Mark Luttrell, as well as numerous current and former eminences from the lengthy era of Morris’ involvement with public service.
