
Nov. 7: Mid-South Distracted Drivers
The Distracted Drivers 5K is a walk/run event at Overton Park, benefiting Mid-South Distracted Driving, which started in 2014 to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving. Money is raised for victims of car crashed attributed to distracted driving, as well as implementation of traffic safety in high schools.
Nov. 7: Steps for Stovall
This run will be held at Snowden Grove in Southaven. Funds raised will go to recently deployed soldiers who have fallen upon financial hardship after returning — the work of the Stovall Foundation, which also raises money to develop the Desoto County Veteran Monument.
Nov. 21: Happy in Memphis
Harding Academy’s annual run has a new name, though it’s now in its second year. The idea is to walk, run, dance, or do whatever else makes you “happy in Memphis” and help benefit the Harding Academy.
Nov. 21: House of Mews Meowathon
All the proceeds from this run benefits the House of Mews in Cooper-Young. The race takes place in Overton Park, just a stone’s throw away from everyone’s favorite cat-petting adoption center in Midtown.
Nov. 21: Ken Novotny Memorial Chilly Chili
For those in East Memphis, this run on Walnut Grove Road benefits students at Concord Academy. There’s also a one-mile family fun run for those with kids that don’t want to be left out.
Nov. 26: Memphis Hungry Turkey
Are you ready for your cinnamon roll at the end of this run? This timed Shelby Farms race is for the Mid-South Food Bank, aptly scheduled for Thanksgiving Day.
Nov. 28: MRC Recovery Run
This race, in its eighth year, benefits the Memphis Recovery Centers, which provides substance addiction treatment for teens and adults. The Recovery Run takes place at Overton Park.
