Voters in five of the Memphis City Council’s nine districts need to be reminded that the fat lady has not sung in their areas. Indeed, with no candidate having won a majority of the votes in each of those districts, as of the regular election date of October 8th, she has hardly begun to tune up.
The new election day for the runoffs is November 19th, but an early voting period will run from Friday, October 30th, to Saturday, November 4th.
Districts whose Council representative is yet to be chosen and the top two vote-getters from October 8th vying in them are:
DISTRICT 2: Frank Colvett Jr. vs. Rachel Knox DISTRICT 3: Patrice Robinson vs. Keith Williams DISTRICT 4: Jamita Swearengen vs. Doris DeBerry-Bradshaw DISTRICT 5: Worth Morgan vs. Dan Springer DISTRICT 7: Berlin Boyd vs. Anthony Anderson
