You’ve heard of (and possibly had a few too many during) a pub crawl. Well, on Thursday, May 14th, the Humane Society of Memphis & Shelby County is hosting a pup crawl.
And if you have a few too many, that’s okay because the event benefits the local Humane Society’s mission of finding new homes for injured and abused dogs and cats.
The Cooper-Young Pup Crawl runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday. Twelve participating bars and restaurants in the trendy Midtown neighborhood will offer canine-themed cocktails, and they’ve agreed to donate 10 percent of their sales of those drinks to the Humane Society.
“Cooper-Young residents and businesses love pets,” said Tamara Cook, director of the Cooper-Young Business Association. “The pup crawl is a fun way for people to enjoy our walkable neighborhood and the creative libations at our best restaurants, all while helping injured and abused animals at the Humane Society.”
The event will feature live music by the Side Street Steppers. And dogs from the Humane Society will be on-hand to greet visitors outside each participating bar.
