For most of my life as an Arkansan, my weekend visits to the Bluff City were a threeway stop — Beale Street, Graceland, and the Memphis Zoo, with little time for exploration in between. Fifth-generation Memphians shaking your heads, have no fear. Since I became a Memphis resident, these historic stops have set a foundation for new favorites beyond the beaten path, with a long list of more to see and do. For a city with more history and soul than could be found in two thousand weekends, this guide is only the beginning, but it’s a great start. Here’s your on-line Memphis “hot list.”
