WHAT'S GOING ON- ArtsMemphis has announced that Arts Build Communities grants have been awarded to 30 non-profits in West Tennessee. The grants will be used for artistic and cultural projects that benefit Shelby, Fayette, Lauderdale, and Tipton counties. ABC grants are funded by the Tennessee Arts Commission (TAC) and administered by ArtsMemphis. The grants offer financial support for projects in arts disciplines including dance, music, theater, visual arts, design arts, crafts, photography, literature, interdisciplinary and folk arts.- For the cost of one median-priced home in San Francisco you could buy an average of 11 homes in Memphis. LendingTree made such calculations for each of the nation’s 50 largest cities. In Detroit, you could buy 23 for 1 in SF. Other cities: Milwaukee: 9, El Paso: 9, Indianapolis: 8.- Point2 Homes, a real estate portal for home searchers, had rated the country's most dynamic cities. What's that mean? According to the surveyors, it's a measurement of growth and progress using 18 indicators, grouped into four main dimensions (Human Capital, Education and Culture, Economic Activity, and Housing). Memphis has the 31st spot in the large cities category, while in the overall ranking it takes 125. "Memphis stands out due to its increase in the share of residents working in arts and entertainment (the 21st largest of the 150 cities analyzed). And Memphis scores well in the increase in the number of internet subscriptions (22nd place).- RVW Wealth LLC, a registered investment adviser, has opened an office in Memphis.
