Celebrate 3 days of Midtown art in the Tower Courtyard.
Overton Square, Midtown
Fri.-Sun., Apr. 22-24, 11 a.m.
Fortunately, all the rain will be behind for a weekend of festivals. And there are many this weekend. So why highlight Art Squared? Because I'll be our there volunteering on Saturday and Sunday. There are more volunteer opportunities available—unless you are already attending A Walk in the Park, V&E Artwalk, Broad Avenue Spring Artwalk, Humane Society's Mega Adoptathon, Puppy Up! Memphis, or any number of fun happenings in our fair city.

Party on the porch at Howard Hall.
Sat., April 23, 1-4 p.m.
Before computers and all those new fangled games and whatnot, a sure place to have a good time was around the dining room table and on the front porch. Meet up on Howard Hall's front porch for tunes and treats. It's a guaranteed good time while learning about Memphis Heritage. See y'all there.

Stock up on books at Benjamin Hooks Library.
Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library, 3030 Poplar
Sat., April 23, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
I like to read books. Recently, however, while perusing Pintrest I saw all kinds of nifty stuff I could make with books. Whatever the reason you are stocking books, you will find them at the Central Library on Saturday along with over 40 authors who penned them.

Sculpture at Tops Gallery artist reception.
TOPS Gallery, 400 S. Front
Sat., April 23, 6-8 p.m.
This gallery just off the South Main drag is a hidden jewel. The sculpture in this group show collectively depicts the configuration of forms representing a loose federation of self-determined states of being. Sounds weird. I'm game. Don't be fooled into thinking this is the only artist reception this weekend. Take your state of being to our calendar of events and find one that suits you.

Beale Street Wine Race
Sun., April 24, 1 p.m.
One rule—no whining. You know the drill. Cheer on your favorite soda jerk. And if wine isn't your game, try the Latin Food and Tequila Fest. If racing is your game, try The 5th Annual Bad Dog 5K, Relay For Life of Memphis, Walking as One Health Fair., or any number of outdoor activities. Get out there and have fun.
